Crash near Gibbon kills Wood River man

(11/23/2009) By Katie Ferrell - Investigators are still trying to figure out what caused a deadly crash that killed a Wood River man. The Buffalo County Sheriff's Office said 52 year old Jerry Codner died.

His car crashed with a car driven by 34 year old Jose Murillo Avina of Shelton.

It happened around 6:40 Sunday night on Highway 30 near Gibbon.

Avina is now listed in good condition at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

Authorities said both drivers were alone in their cars when the crash happened.
