Hamilton County elevator fire extinguished

(11/03/2009) KHAS-TV - After more than 5 hours of fighting a fire at a Hamilton County grain dryer crews finally have the fire out. The fire started around 9:30 Tuesday morning at Murphy's Elevator here in Phillips.

Crews first went to the top of the dryer and tried hosing down the fire, but that did not work.

They eventually had to cut holes in the side of the dryer to let the corn spill out. Some 20 firefighters from Giltner and Aurora responded.

Crews are still investigating exactly how the fire started.
