Litchfield man convicted of sexual assault of child



(11/03/2009) By James Wilcox - A Sherman County man convicted of sexually abusing his girlfriend's daughter could spend decades in prison. 48 year old Charles Fieldgrove of Litchfield is convicted on 4 counts of 1st degree sexual assault of a child.

Each count carries a maximum 50 year prison sentence.

The Nebraska Attorney General's Office said Fieldgrove began abusing the girl when she was in 4th grade.

She reported it to authorities in 2006 - 4 years after it started.
Fieldgrove's sentencing is set for next month.
