Hastings Top Seed in the 2009 GPAC Men’s Soccer Tourney



(Sioux City, Iowa) – Hastings will be the number one seed when the 2009 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Postseason Men’s Soccer Tournament opens on Tuesday, November 3. The Broncos are the number one seed and regular season champions after going 10-1-1 in conference play and 13-3-2 overall. Hastings has secured the league’s first automatic bid to the NAIA National Men’s Soccer National Championship Opening Round on Saturday, November 21.

Eight teams will compete in the single elimination tournament with the winner advancing, as the league’s second representative, to the NAIA National Men’s Soccer National Championship Opening Round. The GPAC is allotted two automatic berths because of the 12 NAIA teams in the conference. Sixteen teams will advance to the NAIA Men’s Soccer National Championship Final Site in Fresno, California, at Fresno Pacific University November 30-December 5, 2009.
