Crick named the Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week

(11/1/09) By Colin Murphy – He is the Huskers best defensive tackle, not named Ndaumkong Suh.

And, after Jared Cricks played against Baylor, people are not just talking about Suh as a top defensive player.

Sunday, the sophomore from Cozad has been named the Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week.

Crick had 13 tackles, 10 solo, and set a Nebraska school record with five sacks in the Huskers 20–10 win over Baylor.

The defensive player of the week is selected from a panel of National Media members.

Crick is the second Blackshirt to be named the Walter Camp defensive player of the week as Ndamukong Suh received the same award on October 11th.
