Brittany Rainey

A Florida native Brittany Rainey grew up in Palm Harbor, Florida enjoying the severe weather the state has so often. Watching the news every morning sparked her desire to be a part of the news and media. Her love of the weather made it a perfect fit to become a broadcast meteorologist. Ever since then she has worked to make that dream a reality.

She attended Palm Harbor University High School where she enrolled in the International Baccalaureate program. A rigorous program designed to ensure the students success in higher education.

Her hard work in high school paid off in college, as she was able to obtain her degree in 3 years. She graduated from Florida State University with a B.S. in Meteorology and a minor in Mathematics. While at FSU she was a member Women in Math, Science, and Engineering. Brittany is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society as well as Chi Epsilon Pi Meteorological Honor Society. Despite her teachers advice to attend graduate school she decided to pursue her dream, a career in broadcast meteorology.

She participated in the 4FSU Weather Show, a half an hour show Monday-Friday produced completely by students. She also repeatedly interned at ABC Action News in Tampa with the morning Meteorologist. And spent the last year in Missoula, Montana as the weekend meteorologist and weekday reporter.

On her time off she is with her little dog, Squiggy. He is a 1 1/2 year old Italian Greyhound/Miniature Pinscher mix that she rescued from the Bay Area Greyhound Association.
