Colin Murphy

Colin Murphy joined KHAS-TV NEWS 5 as a weekend sports anchor in October of 2007. He graduated from Misericordia University in Dallas, PA with a degree in communications and a minor in marketing.

Colin came to Nebraska from Danville, Virginia where he spent time working for WSET-TV. He is originally from the suburbs of Philadelphia which is where his strong passion for sports began. Colin is very excited for the opportunity to cover the Huskers because many Nebraska fans have the same passion.

Colin continues to follow and cheer for all the Philadelphia sports teams (but don’t hold that against him).

He knew early in life that covering sports was what he wanted to do to earn a living. “Ever since I was I kid and went to games with my dad I knew I wanted to be a sports broadcaster,” he said.

Colin’s parents have since moved to Florida. He enjoys visiting them there to do one of his favorite things -- spend time with family and friends.

Colin played basketball in college and still loves playing basketball wherever he can find a game. He also enjoys playing golf, spending time with friends, and heading to the beach in Sea Isle City, NJ.

Colin loves covering sports in Nebraska and meeting the great sports fans of central Nebraska.
