KHAS-TV NEWS 5 in Hastings, Nebraska (Market 105) has an opening for an evening news anchor. |
Job Requirements :
This position requires you to be a newsroom leader, working journalist, mentor and coach. Our anchors contribute in many ways to our newscasts and to our web channel, KHASTV.COM. You will need to be a self-starter, proven storyteller, skilled communicator, excellent writer and a team player. You’ll be asked to contribute story ideas on a daily basis, review scripts for accuracy and conversational style, produce in-depth reports, and cover stories as assigned. Community involvement is a must. You will be expected to represent KHAS-TV NEWS 5 at station-sponsored events, as well as have many of your own. These events and appearances may be during or outside your regular workday hours. You will produce work for multiple platforms, as well as blog and use social networks to connect with our viewers. This is not a position for someone who just wants to read a teleprompter. It’s for someone who wants to be actively involved in the communities we serve and tell the stories of the people who live in those communities. This is not an entry-level position. At least two years on-air experience is required. A bachelor’s degree, valid driver’s license and a good driving record are also required.
